White Fang – Jack London by Jack London

"The Wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept."

White Fang is three-quarters wolf and one-quarter dog, born wild in the frozen Yukon. After a brutal upbringing in an Indian camp and as a fighting dog for a cruel master, he is rescued by a kind man named Weedon Scott. Through patience and love, Scott tames the savage beast, allowing White Fang to overcome his instincts and find a home in civilization.

This companion novel to 'The Call of the Wild' reverses the journey: instead of a dog returning to the wild, a wild wolf is civilized by love. It is a moving story about the power of environment and kindness to shape character.
