Othello – William Shakespeare

Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army, secretly marries Desdemona, the daughter of a senator. His ensign, Iago, consumed by envy and hatred, hatches a diabolical plot to destroy Othello. By planting seeds of doubt and manufacturing false evidence, Iago convinces Othello that Desdemona has been unfaithful, driving the noble general to madness and murder.

Shakespeare's tragedy is a study of pure evil and the fragility of trust. It explores themes of racism, jealousy, and manipulation with terrifying intensity. Iago remains one of the most chilling and complex villains in all of literature.
