A prisoner of the Spanish Inquisition wakes up in a pitch-black cell. He narrowly avoids falling into a deep pit in the center of the room. Later, strapped to a wooden frame, he watches in horror as a razor-sharp pendulum slowly descends from the ceiling, swinging closer to his chest with every pass. He must use his wits to escape a death designed to inflict maximum psychological terror.
