The Diary of a Young Girl – Anne Frank

For two years, Anne Frank and her family hid from the Nazis in a secret annex in Amsterdam. In her diary, which she named Kitty, she recorded the claustrophobia, fear, and hunger of their daily life, as well as her own teenage dreams, first love, and growing literary ambition. Her writing stops abruptly in August 1944, just before their betrayal and arrest.

This diary is one of the most important documents of the 20th century. It gives a human face to the Holocaust, preserving the voice of a brilliant young woman whose life was stolen by hatred.
